I just spent the last month or so in HO land converting a Proto 1000 Budd RDC-2 to a Canadian VIA Rail version for my yet to be built Canadian layout.
It is finished with Alclad2 stainless steel over a gloss grey undercoat, Truelines CN yellow and blue paint, decals from Canada and weathered with Vallejo acrylic paints. The blanked out windows are as the protoype.
The cabs are from the Athearn RDC and has added details: horns, ditch lights, diaphragms (corridor connections) antennas, home made exhaust pipes, handrails and grab irons.
All I have left to do is install a QSI Titan sound decoder and lights. And yes it will have working ditch lights.
