Hi all,
I've just asked Brian Dale if he has any recollections of GE 4 wheel carriages being used for anything other than passenger use, but thought that whilst I'm at it I would put it out there amongst the rest of the forum.
I bought 3 GE Models 4 wheel 3rd class coach kits a while back...
I've been trawling through my Grandfather's photographs and these were taken when he was living at Leigh on Sea as a boy and commuted to Fenchurch Street to attend the City of London Boys School.
The photgraphs would have been taken around the 1914-1923 period
Two have been posted on this...
I am painting my N7 as Stratford engine 69712, I want to highlight the smokebox ring, I believe they were not painted but the ge boys burnished them.
so at present the loco is sprayed black.
I am wondering should I paint the ring or use a scapel to scrape off the paint back to whitemetal...
I have been ask to build a Y6 tram engine for someone, and I thought maybe some of you will be interested how I go about it.
It will be a slow build as work gets in the way at this time of year. Others may do it differently, so comments will be most welcome.
So far I have done the side skirts...
