I was inspired by Cookie's Tamiya Fiat 500 engine and went looking for images of a completed model on Google. Instead I became distracted by this fantastic, but perhaps slightly obsessional, rebuild of the kit's engine. The bit that struck me first was the colouring of the exhaust system; brilliant observation.

Sorry Neil, missed this when you posted it up
I had seen the engine on the link you posted and was rather hoping my mate hadn't, talk about getting your work shown up! I think slightly obsessional sums it up brilliantly - he's done a cracking job on it.

Having seen that again it almost seems a shame to lower the thread standards and post up a photo of the engine I did in the back of my mates car, but heh - if you have the engine cover / boot jacked open, you can't see much of it anyway.
