Something like fifteen years back I made a quantity of "stable" stands for holding the rectangular bottle in which Mek-Pak was supplied... most given away to other 7mm modellers and kept one. The lone stand with bottle has lived in the refrigerator ever since and done sterling service until now. As is the norm I re-filled the bottle from the metal can in which Slater's supply the Mek-Pak product and put the bottle and stand back in the cold place.
Two weeks later and about to start some plastic work - disaster! The bottle had cracked and the relevant shelf in the refrigerator had split with all of the contents, maybe 50mls, had leaked onto the shelf. Said shelf was HIPS and looked like then interior of Cheddar Caves with dangling streaks of floppy styrene. Thankfully I had cleared up the mess before the Good Lady opened the 'fridge door.
No good having a stand without a bottle so I went to the local chemist and asked if they had any suitable glass bottles - no way Hose, life has moved on and pills come pre-packed in plastic jars.
So - anyone got any empty Mek-Pak bottles? Rectangular preferred whilst round acceptable. Otherwise I shall have to buy a longer paint brush to reach the bottom of the metal can!
thank you, Graham
