Well, here it is, in all its grubby glory. 37 106 waits for its next duty.

I don't think it turned out all that bad. I am pleased with the weathering, which has hit pretty much the spot I was aiming for. A mid-1970s workaday 37 that's not seen the carriage washing plant for a couple of weeks or so. Of course, I can see the odd bit of shiny brass showing here and there, which I will deal with before it gets safely packed into its box for delivery.

Thank you to everyone that chipped in with help, reference images, and more. Although I don't intend any more loco commissions to cross the bench, I have a feeling there will be a few more RTR tweaking jobs before I am done!

PS - what's next?

In no particular order I have:

  • More 7mm Broad Gauge stuff, earlier than the coaches done for a different client
  • Some GER 4mm coaches, in P4 with very fancy bogies
  • Some GWR 4mm coaches, a mate's collection he wants finishing
  • A ton of 7mm pre-grouping passenger luggage vans of different companies
  • A selection of SM32 coaches
  • And I’m sure I’ve forgotten the rest.

Enough to keep me occupied for a few decades.
