A Train Set for Christmas

That looks very nice indeed. If you're looking for a crew for the loco, I suggest you check out Modelu's range of 3D printed figures. In our scale they're very expensive at £25 each, but in my opinion worth it, when you've put that much effort into building the train.

Very nice. If your train was the real thing, I'd be thinking, wow, an express engine heading our local train. But as we bump along in those 4-wheel coaches, I would also be wondering how long I could go before needing a pee! :D Rail passenger amenities had barely changed in mid 1950s Manchester.

1950s?

At the start of 2020, 138 Pacer units were either still in service or storage with three National Rail operators: Northern Trains, Great Western Railway and Transport for Wales.Northern Trains retired its last Pacer unit on 27 November 2020,[with Great Western Railway following in December 2020.Transport for Wales Rail phased out their Pacers in May/June 2021

(sorry, this has absolutely nothing to do with the lovely models at the head of the thread)

Thank you for the kind remarks, I have a problem with model figures as they are usually quite crude and make good models look like toys. I have seen the Modelu's figures and they are very good, 3D scanned I believe, but still not convinced.

I take the point about an express engine hauling a branch line train, but what the hell it’s Christmas!!

These photos show a Modelu GWR policeman in G3, the man himself, and some partially painted figures. I think they're very good, but spoiled a bit by my clumsy painting. As an aside, my policy with faces is to add a minimum of shading. I have seen figures with the whites of their eyes painted, which I think is too much.
