Dockside tracks

A while ago someone (Colin?) posted a view of a small dockside in the Thames/Medway area with some very tight curves. I can't find it now but did spot the Erith Railway Pier with its very tight curves and large coal yards. Although there is nothing left of the track I see half of the pier is still there. Does anyone know if the tracks on the pier were standard gauge and if so what radius the curves onto the ship-side pier were?

Google Earth.

WOW, what a change all the old stuff has gone except the original line in on the right, what you see is all post 94 when I left.

A little bit left in South Yard. Top left of this piccy is where the railway sequence of Force 10 from Naverone was filmed, It'll be difficult to do a remake.

Not docks related, but on tight curves, Our club had a talk by photographer Geoff Silcott with his photos from NCB coal mine railways. He said use of the larger 21 ton mineral wagons was limited in the mines due to buffer locking.

The NLS collection also helps......
Simon,
As a slight aside, can I ask how you got a screenshot of the NLS site. Whenever I try to use CTRL-P for this nothing happens. I'd always assumed that is because the NLS website somehow blocked that function. Obviously I'm doing something wrong:(

I always "shift+ print screen" and then paste into good old MS Paint then "save as" after cropping if required.

Stuart,

I simply screen-shot from my iPad. (Home button and off button on mine).

Over the years I've spent studying London's wharves for inspiration for my own layout I did come across Pacific Wharf Explore georeferenced maps - Map images - National Library of Scotland
which sat on the Channelsea River, a tributary of Bow Creek, not so much tight curves but an interesting site as regards an industrial layout if you've got the length of room.
It was situated between Bromley and West Ham stations on the LT&SR line out of Fenchurch St station. I've not been able to find out what kind of industry it was, it shows tanks on the old maps, chemicals ?. An internet search has not thrown anything up but I'd be interested if anyone knows of any info. on this one. It was all demolished at some point as the maps just show a waste land now.

Rob R and simond,
Thanks for the suggestions, but neither work on my PC using Firefox. I'm sure Firefox used to have an icon that could be clicked to produce a screenshot but that seems to have disappeared. I'll do some googling and see what I can find - don't want to prolong a digression on this thread.
Thanks anyway for you offers of help, much appreciated.

The scale of what has disappeared in a lifetime Is mind boggling - seems a lot more than what has appeared over the same period.
Not dockside, but a time warp exploration via NLS of the areas around the early industrialised towns reveals a network of railway lines, both mainline and industrial, that we can only dream of.

It is also getting on for a lifetime ago now that a lot of it disappeared. Railway lines & yards that used to exist in my town were closed around the time I was born, 1967. Save for a few bridge abutments still around, pretty much all of it, embankments and everything, has been totally obliterated. Only enthusiasts & historians know or care about what used to be.

I just use the PrtSc button on my laptop and then paste into paint.

Thanks for the suggestion, Phil; but that's the same as CTRL-P - i.e. it doesn't work for me :(
But after a bit of ferreting around I have discovered that right-clicking produces a menu including screen capture. Why this is no longer just an icon on the top bar as it used to be is beyond me - progress probably!

Technology is wonderful, until they start altering things, a bit like Wesley mucking about with Eddy's triumph.
