Mineral wagon full of Yorkshire gold

Since dropping back down to 00 from 0 gauge I’ve got a few wagons I’d built a few years ago out of their boxes.

This was a parkside kit I built must be two and a half year ago ,thought I’d have a go at weathering and adding real coal to it ,which was messy as it managed to get everywhere ! Lol
The coal was actually from the old north gawber colliery site which I cycled across to get to work for years ,so I got a bag full of it now and then lol
Not on par with some people’s but I was happy at a first attempt

That's very nice, Brian (though I think it's a Cambrian kit for an LNER mineral rather than Parkside - not a kit I've built myself).

The one thing I would say - based of practical experience and a dislike of having to mend things I should have got right in the first place - is that it is worth soldering three links. The unsightly gaps are only really a problem in photos, but loose links are a fiddle to replace. If they're soldered, they tend to stay on the wagon and not get lodged in pointwork or in the soles of your feet (and yes, I've suffered both).

Thanks Matt and Adam

I think your correct on that Adam ,I do remember getting some Cambrian kits but had forgot which ones were which lol

Good idea on soldering the 3 links
I don’t want rogue links in my trackwork or my feet for that matter lol
I’ll get onto that soon
