Hi All,

I'm sure you know that it's the Warley National Exhibition this weekend.

90 layouts, loads of traders, societies and line stands. If you are visiting us consider coming on the Sunday as local trains are running and it's usually a bit quieter, particularly after 1pm.

Details of tickets etc are all on the Warley Exhibition website https://www.thewarleyshow.co.uk

Look forward to seeing everyone this weekend,

Cheers

Nigel

A good weekend had, busy with all the happy folk coming, seeing,enjoying and departing inspired! Sunday certainly quieter but Sat was very busy for all. All show guides sold by early afternoon on the Sunday. the TV GMC series certainly helped with new faces, but many regulars seen as well. a big thank you if you were a visitor or involved in any way.
The club stand A7 by the entranced showcased aspects of the members work , along with a DVD of works done and two layouts in progress supplied boards , even my N gauge BOB model - Langley on minitrix chassis - around 20 years old even got a showing ! but many others much better and not all on wheels with some fine model buildings.

I enjoyed the show again, every year I say to myself "never again" and then get persuaded to go and find it really is worth it!

This was pretty spectacular modelling (behind the Scalefour soc stand);

The NEC (North East Corridor) at the NEC (National Exhibition Centre)!

A knockout for me was Halland;

Operated by a knowledgeable young man, if the builder is of a similar age, here is some really fantastic talent.

Stunning display, the lighting was exquisite imho.

I always like to see "cross modelling" in effect (the Phantom!);

I think this is Sydney Gardens, it was hard to get close. Very spectacular display and beautifully presented;

Apologies for not posting more, there were at least two I meant to go back and get shots of but I just forgot (and ran out of energy).
Very impressed with a Belgian layout, the operator was very happy to chat away and spoke excellent English, which is probably just the thing for exhibiting here! Great to catch up with others too.
Cheers,
John.

Hi John

many thanks for posting your photos. I saw Mauch Chunk in it’s early days being built at Merseyside MRS and losing sight of it when we (the O Gauge Group - now Wirral OGG) left MMRS due to lack of space when a move was forced upon them. Nice to see the finished layout.

regards

Mike

The Heyside gang were there on Sunday, doing a recce as we are attending next year. Despite my concerns about the NEC as a venue, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and found much to admire. I particularly liked the B'ham bus (memories of schooldays in Brum) and the NE electric autocar - what a great restoration. My best layout was the O gauge Norwich Central where I thought everything was to a superb high standard. I particularly liked the pre grouping M&GN and GER stock.

Getting there very early, I had time to have a long chat with Tony Hagon from Protocab who was very helpful, and Digitrains regarding the Tam Valley Dead Rail system. I bought a G1 rolling road to be able to test my live steam, so all-in-all, a grand day out.

Still things to finish mind.
The layout has been upgraded and fettled since becoming a part of BMRG.
More motive power and stock is pending as well.
The next time Mauch Chunk is out in London next year at the Alexandra Palace show.
