LBSC / SR E2 Buffers

Would anyone be able to provide me with some dimensions of the buffers on a LBSCR / SR E2 loco?

My daughter's engine (a Bachman G scale 'Thomas, converted to G3) had an altercation with the wall of a friend's house after running off the end of his partially complete line (due to loss of r/c signal through the tunnel...)

So I will make a complete new set of sprung buffers - brass bodies and steel heads, set at the correct spacing. There are plenty of photos online of E2s that I could try scaling from, but if anyone has a suitable drawing it would save a bit of faff.

I know it's only a 'toy' loco - but I may as well make the new parts to scale if I can.

Thanks in advance,
Andy

Wasn't there something in a recent G3S newsletter?

Hasn't Don Crouch done some machining & perhaps passed the masters over to Mr Williams?

Indeed so Barry, but they were carriage buffers, not loco buffers.

Provided I know the integrity of the builder, I'm always happy to take a good pattern and have them cast in brass or whitemetal as appropriate. Free of charge if I can add them to my range. Saves the builder making four (or more) all the same and helps the Gauge 3 community, but does mean a delay of several weeks before the castings come back.

Another thought - Don Crouch is building locos too, so may already have a pattern?

Thanks for all the replies - and especially Sleeper Agent for sending me just what I need.
I feel some swarf coming on!

You'd be surprised how many companies RWS lore intermingles with Mike.....has certainly swelled my railway library many more times over than if just interested in recreating a real line :))

Look forward to see to what comes of the attempt Andy.

To anyone not familiar with the Bachmann Thomas range, here is one of their troublesome trucks modified and repainted. The dimensions are pretty well spot on for Gauge 3, though very slightly too narrow.

The huge market for Gauge 3 LBSC E2 engines must have boosted Bachmann's sales by at least a dozen!
