Quick question about traders at shows.

I was caught out at Bristol by not having enough cash with me, I was surprised that a fair few traders didn't have the facility to accept payment by debit card.

Is this a regular situation at shows?

I am off to Kettering on Saturday but want to ensure I can buy the items I want.

It is becoming more common. I think it's because banks, being what they are, have been increasing charges for using card readers. Add to this many venues have very poor mobile coverage, meaning machines rarely work as expected. More than once I've had to trek to the nearest fire exit with a trader so they locate the one spot in the vicinity with a hint of signal!

I expect a lot of traders also like having some ready money in their cash boxes when they get home, too.

So, if you can, bring plenty of readies with you.

Agreed, but my Vodafone mobile ALWAYS seems to work in these places.
