Station will be based on the soon to be demolished Panteg & Griffithstown station.
image.jpg I'd like to welcome you to Traethcombe Bay. The small sea side station will be situated on the hill side very much like St Ives with the beach at a lower level.
It will have a sea Wall Dawlish style with a Miniature Railway running along. I intend to use Peco N Scale 009 Mainline track and American locomotives and the stock will come from kits. image.jpg
I'm no artist but this is the sort of thing I'm looking at.

Signal box will be based on Dawlish.
This layout will be built under Ranelagh Bridge, it's not based on any particular place but a rose tinted nostalgic look back at a 50's sea side holiday location.

It will be connected to Ranelagh Bridge as I have just enough room around the back of the shed to loop a track around down the side of my fence whilst falling on a gradient loop back around underneath it's self and come back in the shed directly below. It might be some time before the out door section is done, I've been in touch with easy build to see what radius there DMU's will safely negotiate. It won't be for big locos mainly DMU's & auto trains.

I've asked Jon To build me these two signals for the layout although I won't require the calling on arm as in the signal he built above.
Phil from Intentio will be doing the buildings as laser cut kits.

Soon to be demolished? Looks like it should be listed!

JB.
I know I've contacted the local
Council before about it with a possible move to the Gwilli. Unfortunately they didn't have the logistics for such a move. Id like to see it go to the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway and I've started a debate on my local
Councils face book page and also wrote to our new Labour candidate for MP about it. ( labour always win around here Very safe seat ) the demolition is set to happen quite soon so I'm trying to get them to hold off so it can be catalogued & deconstructed with care to be used at the Varteg station site on the Pontypool & Blaenavon's next extension.

Big American super Power for our sea side train rides. It works out to 15" scale in 7mm

image.jpg I've found some great videos on YouTube of 15" gauge railways both here and in the states. Quite a few adapt normal rolling stock with seats for passengers. I might just do a couple of each some adapted N scale freight cars and the narrow gauge enclosed stock. Freight cars for train rides and covered stock for our holiday makers going to the Hotel. The local rich entrepreneur owns the hotel as well as the 15" gauge railway you know!!
