The more anoraks in the closet, the more balanced the person is my finding, I find those that can diligently and single mindedly model one branch line between date x and date y (example) slightly unnerving LOL. All the power to them, but I often wonder what they are missing by being so obsessively focused in such a small variety of subjects with scant regard to other railway aspects.

Copper and lead?? Oh heck - as some of us aren't really very good at soldering, can we use R-T-R plastic instead?

This is very much a "Doing" Forum.... less emphasis on what the actual subject IS, but "Doing" is the thing, so no-one gets lined up against the wall for 'scattergun' modelling...
