7mm Scale Buffer gauge 3D Print file S7 version

It sits on the rail head, between the rails, and you can judge or mark your buffer heights and centre distance using the pin. (And coupling slot centre too)

Centres shouldn’t be an issue, but I seem to recall a JLTRT resin van where they were wrong…

I drew it for resin printing, but @daifly has just done an FDM print without difficulty.

There are 32 and 33mm gauge versions in the resources.

My ‘old tech’ gauge. Bit of etch waste which hangs on a nail by the bench. In use it sits on a flat surface and checks the buffer centre height, flange depth added to the notional centre height. If the pin is within .75 mm of the centre either way that is fine by me.
Buffer centres are standardised now at 5’8” but weren’t not always and the height could vary depending on what load the vehicle was carrying.
