Little more than ten weeks to the Spring Show, and time to book tables.
For which I need both Displays and Stewards, please!
Topics can include any form of Excellence in 1:32 scale, or any tools and methods to achieve it.
While G1MRA Standard is also welcome, I shall bring our simple "Finescale Layout" so that you can demonstrate the visual and practical benefits of Finescale wheels.

G1MRA Newsletter & Journal 263 reported that G1MRA is offering a prize for a Gauge 1 layout that gets exhibited at a series of general Model Railway Exhibitions.
While they're wanting to appeal to younger people and those on a budget, think of the opportunities for promoting Finescale: it's got to be small-ish (enforcing sensible speeds), and it's got to be a scenic Model Railway (not Planks on Sticks).

As at the last two G1MRA events, we'll also host 'at arm's length' the fledgling 'Gauge One 3D Circle', which covers all forms of digital modelling. It opens up new opportunities for Making, giving a generation with screen skills the ability to make, buy and share small batches of highly accurate parts at low overall cost. It's a game-changer for Finescale.

Please get in touch soon, so I can bag a good space for us promptly :)

    Thanks, David

After a period of suspense, we now have enough displays to run another 1:32 Finescale stand at this show.
As it happens, all the contributors are from this Forum :)

I've also just heard that we have a high probability of bringing a crate of G1MRA's latest locomotive build book:

92p colour, spiral bound for workshop reference
Price likely to be comparable with other G1MRA books

    This is a 1:32 locomotive with "G1MRA Fine" wheelsets, battery-power, radio-control and top-quality sound.

Heartfelt thanks to all of you who have contributed to it by helping Tony with the research and the build.

Building a scale locomotive is very much like 'eating an elephant', and Tony deals with each steak, one at a time, describing his methods and - crucially - his mistakes, blind alleys and alternative suggestions.

Unlike "simplified live-steam" books, it's not the sole resource you'd need to follow suit, but it does explain the methodology and resources needed to scratch-build any specific high-fidelity model from metal.

Therefore it will appeal to a wide range of modellers in 'the larger scales', as well as Western Thunderers.
