Saw the Rolling Stones there back in the 1970s. My main memories are Keith and Ronnie's guitars being slightly out of tune with each other (excruciating) and Mick Jagger throwing a bucket full of water into the audience. Luckily, I was far enough back not to get wet.
Much safer and more fun to attend the exhibition on Sunday. Had a few good chats but failed to speak to Pencarrow as he was already busy talking to others. Very enjoyable and there's Scaleforum to look forward to in a couple of weeks.

There were lots of bargains if you looked around, Heljan mint TTG 47 for £200, MMP 58 mint with factory packaging for £250, JLTRT Guv's £80 each and several Mk1's on one stall for £50 each....which I missed but a friend did not :)). All of those were bought well after doors opened and the initial rush subsided.
Yes it was noticable on Sunday that the gannets had been around earlier! :))

I traded in my NCE PowerCab in for some folding stuff which soon got converted to an MMP GUV kit. Not a bargain per se as the price was about the same as I paid RRP for one last year ( yes I now have 2 on the shelf to build!) but as currently unobtainium it was worth it to me.

Excruciating?

Keith Richards is known to have tuned his guitars to open G (D-G-D-G-B-D) which effectively drops it by a tone to a tone and a half compared to standard tuning (E-A-D-G-B-E) used by Ronnie Wood. This gave the Rolling Stones their distinctive sound.

Many parked on a field. but there was a perfectly adequate hard standing car park no further away from the venue and had plenty of space at 11.00
