Haha! Twenty years ago I had the full suite but I sold the collection. Now I'm doing it again, because well, it's so much fun!

In no particular order:

Class H. From some basic Worsley Works etches. Runs great but I need to electrify a bogie and its third radius minimum. Portescap motor.

Class D. Scratch (Ish). Portescap motor. Nice runner.

Class A. Resin body. Scratch chassis. Portescap motor. Runs fine.

Class K. From a SE Finecast kit. Portescap motor. Nice runner but 3rd radius minimum.

Class F. CDC Design body with Dean Goods Chassis.

Peckett. Resin body with Hattons P Class chassis

Class E and the Bo-Bo. RTR

Following are Dreadnaught and Ashbury stock.

Next up. The Class G. Worsley Works are working on some basic etches though I just can find any engineering drawings for it.i believe they are held by The Sheffield Archives but they won't play ball over the phone and insist I visit. But I'm scared to go so far north.

Hi John - nice to see another Metropolitan Railway modeller.

Sheffield ain't t'north - it's south :).

This is what you're after (which takes you to the page below) CalmView: Record

You're best contacting them by e-mail as suggested at archives@sheffield.gov.uk quoting the record reference number and title to narrow down the query.

See if you can make an afternoon appointment and spend overnight in Sheffield otherwise it's around 4½ hours outward and 4½ hours return making a long day. There's plenty to do and both Leeds and York are only an hour away by train.

Hello and thanks for that so much. I've emailed them and begged them so many times that I've lost count. I'd pay pure gold if some one who works there would just take one photo and WhatsApp it to me but no,no. You are right though, Ive just got to visit.

I suspect, if the archive service is anything like the one here, underfunding of the Council means there are really too few staff. So no copying service. What staff there are have to make sure the archived material is looked after, catalogued etc. So the stuff is there for people to look at, which is ultimately what matters.

Love your Gentle Giant avatar. In a Glass House is one of my favourite albums and the rest aren't far behind.

Well spotted! As you will see I didn't draw it Free Hand and we are one of the few who, as youngsters, were Acquiring The Taste. When I get going with the class G I'll post the build process here. Unfortunately I still have a Missing Piece or two.
