After a little advice and persuasion from 3link I joined the happy band, after living & working in Bournville , Birmingham for 57 years I eventually came south, but still my interests based around the happy spotting days around the Midlands, so it was quite obvious to get involved in models that take me back to happy days, my models are static and just come out for a rolling road run to keep the models rheumatics not take hold, mainly now 00 gauge because of space restrictions but have ventured into other gauges liberally, still interested mainly in the old Longbridge to Halesowen line that closed way back but had interesting locations en route...like many ended up with frieght and closure, the loco profiled on my page is a 2F Johnson Deeley which plagued me always but shedded at Bournville was kept just for the Journey on the above mentions line because of the very delicate Dowery Dell viaduct en route.........hope to find some happy and interesting models on here...thank you for allowing me to join you all

Welcome Michael,

Great to see you have taken the plunge and joined the gang. There is some great modelling going on here at WT, something for everyone and in literally every scale. It makes for a great read now the evenings are drawing in, very inspirational if you do decide to build a garden layout ;):D….

Is there no one around this area that can renumber locomotives ?? I bought that Bassett Lowke 0 gauge loco, and although I've renumbered and named 00 gauge versions...the 0 is another task....you had a lucky escape the other day when you called next door and they were out.....I would have grabbed you then lol...hope all is well with you.....Mike 20-Jan 24

Good afternoon Mike,

Yes there are a few companies that supply transfers for O gauge locos, Fox transfers is one and HMRS also do a vast range. But as it’s just for one loco you would probably be better off with Fox, as the HMRS transfer sheets are large and cover a lot of different types of liveries, etc. Both have got good websites so we are well catered for.

I will pop around next time I’m in the area and have a look at your latest purchase.

All the best,

Martyn.

I have an order ready for Fox ..I have dealt with him before....... but was just looking at people that do the job for you, I think the nearest is Bedworth Warwickshire but the rest are all further north, some time back I had bought an 00 gauge loco off a guy that had a load of locos renumbered by TMC and assured me they were superb...but at a price !!! I need to add coal to the tender on this model and although I bought a length of track I fear it will need just a tad more or the tender back wheels are in the air,,,lol,... I took it down to the N gauge guy for him to gloat over ha ha.....OMG was he impressed !!!!

Hi Mike,

You don’t need to pay someone to apply the transfers, they are fairly straightforward to apply.

I will be in touch soon, and I have some real coal if you need it..
