Back out of its box, 67421 paid a visit to the terminus at Holt, hauling its classic ex-GC two coach push-pull train (as seen on the OA&GB line in the 1950s). This would be a Guide Bridge to Holt service, via Stalybridge.

The scenic hole at the bottom RH corner will eventually be covered by a stone retaining wall and embankment. The white strip along the bottom of the photo will be a road.
Holt is really a model of Delph but re-named to allow certain Rule 1 changes, both scenic and operational.

Looking really. It's also a treat to see "Delph" in the sunlight. Regarding colouring, I am pretty sure all the stations from Clegg Street to Delph (except for mainline part of Greenfield) retained LMS stone & brown colours. A pal of mine got one of Delph's LMS tin station signs which is in LMS colours. Looking at other branches around the system, it looks like BR had made its mind up early on to close and not to paint them. I spotted your Rule 1, so I'm just saying.

Thanks for the comments.
I'm going to confess my ignorance Larry. I thought the station and goods shed were painted in LMS colours. but clearly not. I always associated stone and brown with GWR infrastructure rather than the LMS. Oh well, I'll have to live with it as I'm not going to have it all repainted now.
Dave.

I should just point out that the marvellous ex-GCR push pull coaches were built by Larry Goddard (in OO) and converted to P4 by me, by replacing the bogies.
