Lord and Butler Model Railways are very pleased to be hosting a small event, which we hope will be held annually at our shop.
This year sees us celebrating our 25th Anniversary and over those 25yrs, we have seen many changes within the hobby.
Given the ever increasing constraints modern life places on available leisure time and space for our hobby, many potential railway modellers perhaps feel they cannot accommodate a model railway layout.
Our view is that you can and we hope to inspire some of you to have a go.
A small project, whilst it may not be the ultimate layout to the individual, can serve as a stepping stone, a test piece on which to try new techniques or one on which to hone those skills that the layout builder is already familiar with.
On Saturday 13th December, we shall have four or five small ( some very small ) layouts in the shop exhibited by their builders who will be only too willing to talk you through the processes involved in creating such a project.
If space allows, I may well bring Sheep Dip along as a static exhibit and will be only too pleased to talk through and demonstrate the scenic techniques I have employed thereon.
The day will follow our usual opening hours of 10am until 5pm.
There is no charge to enter ( bit obvious perhaps because we are after all a shop ! ), free parking in the car park outside the shop and whilst we cannot offer refreshments to visitors, there is a cafe close by, a branch of Costa Coffee in the vicinity, along with a Greggs a very short drive away.
