Hi all. Hope you all had a happy Stafford. I was there and had a busy time on the Tech Committee desk. I hope my advice was helpful, and thanks to all for the chats. I did manage to do a bit of building, mainly before the public were admitted first thing in the morning after breakfast, in the quiet hall. As you can see from the above post I had pre-cut the footplate, side frames and valences (except the valences aren't in the photo!) I soldered them all together.

You can just see that I soldered 1.5 x 1.5 mm L section along the top of the valences and side frames to keep them straight on the underside of the footplate, and to give the join a little more oomph. I had forgotten to cut out the buffer and drag beams, but made some from left over NS scraps. I had intended to add the brake blocks and hangers but failed miserably as there was just too much chattage. Happy days.
As usual I would ask you please to throw a few coppers into the 'Just Giving link' above. It is a very worthy cause.
