Had haggis this lunchtime, and looking forward to TV tonight, BBC Scotland has some programmes dedicated to Scotlands national poet.
Eddy Reader performing Burns songs as only she can plus readings and history.

And everyone knows:- Auld Lang Syne
Translates to “Old Long Since” in standard English and can be interpreted as meaning “since long ago” or “for old times’ sake.”

Yes, we go to 'Celtic Conections' music festival on at this time which celebrates Burns and all folk, roots and accoustic music from around the world and Eddy Reader's Burns specials are terrific, what a voice, just right for Burns, Eddy's version of 'A Fond Kiss' usually has many people greetin their eyes out.
The programme on BBC earlier tonight had various new artists doing Burns songs but the most powerful was old Marty Pellow doing 'A parcel of Rogues in a Nation'. A very patriotic song reflecting on the 'Act of Union' of Scotland and England in 1707.
