7mm Salcombe

Joe's Garage

Western Thunderer
Having enjoyed the layouts on the forum I thought I would start to post some pictures of a layout I built in 1993. Unfortunately I sold it to move onto a bigger dream. A very foolish thing to do as I never did complete the next one! Uploading will take me some time and I only have some old prints of the layout, but I hope the plan starts to whet readers' appetites.

Well I didn't think uploading would take me nearly as long this but here are some pictures. They were originally taken on a Nikon F301 and I have used a digital to take these pictures so the quality is not as good as the originals.

As can be seen a very simple layout in 9 feet but a very useful learning exercise in 7 mm modelling.

Any comments on the modelling, pictures etc greatly appreciated!!

Having sold all this a long time ago I now have another GWR 060 2021 to build.

Mine too!! :) ...the plan is very similar to both Ashwood Basin, and Withyn Reach.
I'm interested to know how the trains would've disappeared offstage... was it to be some kind of overbridge..?
Hi Jordan

A large tree forms the sceninc break...not very effective from high up viewing but different to a bridge or building. It was always intended to be a test track at home.
