Nice, but would it be even better if the backscene was as high as the tallest building or tree? I suspect on whether the layout is operated from the front or back and what sort of point operation and couplins you use.
Hi Alan , the backscene is actually for the o gauge layout underneath, I’d like to get a simple tree line or costal themed one , points are Manuel and couplings are all auto .

Just caught up with your thread. What a great layout, and it's coming together very swiftly, too! The water is particularly convincing.

Looking forward to seeing your next instalment.

Cheers,
Mark

Not sure Alan can comment on the happenings at Saxthorpe quay , but I've a hunch things are still just plodding along quietly the hum of fishing boats and the hiss of small elderly steam locomotives filling the air .

In reality the layout got so far and I found the main point failed which meant some rewiring, but unfortunately I then got distracted with building a layout 10 times its size . However it still is packed away in the shed so it may make a reapreance at some point . But now my interests have taken a more western theme ,20250803_165124.jpg

That's a rather lovely saddle tank! May I ask whence it came?

Cheers,
