Good Evening - Bit of a luddite as well as having dreadful internet access. Should never have moved to Norfolk! However, I have a lifetime interest in my native Northumberland and the three ex NBR branch lines as well as a passing interest in the West Highland Railway. Looking forward to contributing to aspects of modelling Scotland's railways.

Well hi there, welcome in.

those NBR branch lines sound interesting, certainly a scenic change from the LSWR stuff that I've been contemplating recently.,

Welcome Ian,

Plenty of piccies and you will be well away, especially if you include a smattering of the real thing.

Wodda yer mean 'should never have moved to Norfolk?' Fine way to make friends I must say.
You're lucky, we Norfolkers don't normally talk to incomers for the first 20 years!
Welcome! :) I'm new on here too!

Edit - This is not your first sojourn to this wonderful county Ian, methinks, unless your move is not recent. I remember a lovely finer-scale exhibition at Swaffham quite a few years ago now which I think you organised. Looking forward to your contributions greatly.

Your cover for the last 21 years has been excellent! I really thought you'd gone!

Good Morning Richard, a difficult dialect yes, but so is my native Geordie ! If you attend the forthcoming Ely Show, please introduce yourself, I have my new train set there (all being well), but not the one advertised on their web-site. It's my Glasgow based depot - 'Lochty Lane'.

Welcome BC, I too have a passing interest in the NBR - but during the grouping period or the amount of exNBR stock that I seem to have built tells me I have:thumbs:

I had spotted the Ely show. D1 lives near Ely so could be good excuse to visit her. Need a cunning plan! :)

Sorry 40126 I am unable to send pictures of the new train set as I do not have a scanner, but I will attempt to get some put on via my camera. It has only attended two shows so far, Huntington (St Neots) in March and Hitchin 7mm Show in April. As well as Ely this month it was requested I took it to Northolt on May 30 because another layout has had to drop out. Remember, I did say I was a computer luddite ! ! !

Hi BC. Good to chat at the Ely Exhibition. I have now returned from Scotland and explored several of the West Highland Stations - Bridge of Orchy, Loch Awe, Glenfinnan etc. Scotrail keep them beautifully clean and tidy. England could learn a thing or two. Superb trip on The Jacobite in stunning sunshine. I'm hooked!
