With less than one week to go to "Railwells".....
I decided to tackle the ironwork on the S&D/MR van. It's the usual mix of matt black and leather and I have just spent the best part of three hours doing just one wretched wagon - it's at moments like these that BR livery and 4mm scale seem such a good idea
I then tackled the roof (uneven mix of matt black & white) brushed on and then "stippled" with kitchen roll. Suitably encouraged I went and got the iron mink and "did" its roof too.
Some of the ironwork is a bit ragged around the edges, but I think a bit of cutting in and out with black/grey paint respectively followed by a weathering coat should hopefully sort this out.
The worst thing is that I simply can't see the edges clearly any more, need one of those magnifying loupe things I suppose
Hopefully I have enough Blackham transfers left to letter the van up properly - I wonder if the "road" and "van" words will fit in their respective panels?
