Must agree with you lads, MRJ is pulling it's socks up of late, I did like the Birmingham signal box of Jim's.
Why is it that some modern day structures can be completly ignored as you pass them by but see one in model form and "wow look at that". I suppose it's appreciation of the work that has gone into building something and catching the atmosphere of the place.

. My personal perception is that the magazine is back on the 'up' after becoming rather moribund a few years ago.
The micro-layout Croft Goods is lovely, and an amusing read, particularly where he bought a full size wagon brake lever to use as a pattern for a model

and the results you have achieved as presented in the magazine are absolutely first class
