Hi Mike,
How lovely to see a picture of Geoff . I shall be able to put a face to the name now as we have had a lot of correspondence just lately. Those models just ooze quality. Quite superb. We are both big advocates of scratch building and he sent me a picture of a Sacre 0-6-0 which had me drooling. Having Alan Brackenborough do your painting must be a big help as I do all my own painting and lining and its no way is it up to his standards. Oh well, keep persevering, one day I promise myself to build a decent model....

Hi Adrian, I'm not sure how he manages to get them so clean. Fred Lewis is the same. His work is always so clean. I seem to get solder everywhere!. Geoff was telling me he built 26 engines in Gauge 1 and also some in Scale 7 as well as Fine scale. He also worked at one time in 4mm which I have never done. Certainly a great craftsman. I am hoping to meet him one day.

One of my customers had a Beeson Coal tank made in 1938. It was quite superb. My customer has died and I don't know what has happened to the model.
One thing about being well known like Geoff is that you get to work on decent stuff instead of some of the rubbish that is about!.

Just in at "The Titfield Thunderbolt" issue 210 of MRJ. Price has gone up to £3.95 but still a bargain as far as I am concerned.
I like them all but this is a real cracker, the layout featured is the 7mm "Hedingham" by Alan Turner and it is absolutely out of this world! It's definitely a model but as far as I am concerns absolutely oozes the atmosphere of railway, time and place intended by its builder - a fine foil to the previous issue and Martin Finney's contention that modelling a real place will yield the ultimate model.
Not blue but definitely bostin

My copy is sat in the Post Office less than two miles away and I can't get my mitts on it until 9 o'clock in the morning!
Why does the Postie always try and deliver my MRJ when I'm out?
