Parked on a centre road at Locomotion Shildon and hence difficult to see / photograph, this carriage is a broad gauge coach that was converted to run on the narrow gauge. Diagram U29. History detailed on the VCT website, here.

This coach is rather interesting in that the panels / vents over the droplights are the "early" style and hence deeper than the panels over the "later" style of sidelights. The arrangement shown here is often referred to as "intermediate" panelling.

Hi Graham,

In 2009 in was on an outer road, so I managed a more traditional 3/4 shot, a glorious survivor, I cant decide if its best kept as is or fully restored for people to travel in. The GW saloon (VCT link - 248) @ Bodmin is an occasion operational contemporary & a fascinating vehicle to travel in
