Resin pour pond
This is what I'm currently using, Epoxy Resin Clear Crystal Coating Kit 1000ml/1160g - 2 Part Casting Resin for Art, Comes with Resin Professional Accessories Bag, Suitable for Crafts, Table top Coating, River Table, Jewelry Making https://amzn.eu/d/3TxkrhjComplete tangent from modelling - what resin and hardener are you using? I've been making some laser-cut items for my sisters cafe in Crosshills. I've been trying to fill some of the decoration with coloured resin but the resin - hardener combination I'm using is f***ing frustrating. The recommended ratio is taking 2 days to harden and soaks into the wood. If I bump up the hardener ratio it solidifies too quickly and doesn't settle to a smooth finish. I need an alternative source that people can recommend.
Thanks for that - from the size of the bottles I'm guessing it's a 50:50 mix of resin to hardener. I've got various colour pigments for the job I want to do but the resin I'm using needs 2% to 4% hardener and in the small quantities I'm using it's difficult to estimate 4% hardener. This is what I'm currently using, Epoxy Resin Clear Crystal Coating Kit 1000ml/1160g - 2 Part Casting Resin for Art, Comes with Resin Professional Accessories Bag, Suitable for Crafts, Table top Coating, River Table, Jewelry Making https://amzn.eu/d/3Txkrhj
Yes it’s a 50/50 ratio. For timber I would mix a small amount first and brush it in to the exposed surface and allow that to harden and then do the main pour. Thanks for that - from the size of the bottles I'm guessing it's a 50:50 mix of resin to hardener. Only good for Bog Snorkelling I think RogSteve, according to the product safety, it looks as if putting fish or aquatic life in the ponds could be dodgy.
Just saying

I’ve used West System epoxy resin (to fill cracks and voids in oak table tops), sourced from these people from whom I received excellent service.Complete tangent from modelling - what resin and hardener are you using?
