RJH Hawksworth coaches - any good?

Hi guys,

I've just picked up a pair of the  RJH (Cavalier?) Hawksworth coach kits on a well-known auction site.  Would anybody care to comment on how accurate they are?

Cheers,

Steph

Steph,

Not sure about the Hawksworth Coach but in Martyn Welch's book Art of Weathering he uses a couple of RJH kits, a MK1 and a Gresley and they both look really nice so you might be onto a winner??

I do hope so...!

I'm not expecting anything up to the standards of the Hurn coaches, but they will have to be accurate and can then earn their keep on the railway.  Now I need to find a toplight to make up the set for the DNS c1949...

Cheers,

Steph

I built several in the late 80's, they are good kits and I wouldnt hesitate to build one now. There are a couple of tweaks like the raised strip on the lower coach side that you can add and the w/m ends might need a little filling but apart from that I dont think the Hurn kits are substantially better

Well they landed.  Heavily  :headbang:

So here we are, they're almost back to component form...:
