Those Great Dorset ones are wonderfully familiar - for a few years around 2004 I used to take my 10 1/4" Bagnall, a coach, around two hundred feet of 14lb track and a point and we would build a railway with the help of a digger - but it was still around 1 in 14 at its steepest. That loco did sound good working up that bank!

What wonderful photos! These bring back happy memories of family visits to fairs in the 1970s. The one at Bishops Castle (now held near Shrewsbury) especially. Thanks for posting.
