Thanks Dave and everyone. I went off a colour photo of Llanfyllin station. It's so simple poking PVA into cracks with a very small brush, then sprinkling on short static grass of choice and sucking the grass upright using a vacuum snout. I have an old Dyson for the job. That looks very effective, Larry.
Dave.
Thank you very much Rob. The Laser Cut kits do not represent anything in particular and so they lend themselves to easy adaption. Spare sheets of brickwork are also available.View attachment 165311
Hi Larry,
I have to say that this is one of the nicest, well presented station buildings I've seen in a long time. Lovely job.
Rob
The overall balance visually is much better with the shed on the station building side IMO.What a difference the positioning of the goods shed makes. LH) as at Llanfyllin. RH) Aesthetically, I thought it looked better 'in-line'.....

The Shipston' buildings are fine models and it is a shame they are not used. On my layout, I can see trains the length of the baseboard from a sitting position, whereas the good shed used to block my view as well as cast a shadow.I am biassed by months of research of Shipston on Stour. The goods shed there was the biggest structure and looked right only because it was in the middle of the other structures. I still have the buildings (in 4mm scale) and there is a somewhat distant pull to put them all together again. But Moor Street defies competition!
Yes, Larry. I have been sorting out the S-on-S buildings today and will bring them back to England. A nice small winter project, perhaps, for me to tackle in England. We now have the space, at least I think we do!The Shipston' buildings are fine models and it is a shame they are not used. EDIT: Forgot to say that with everything at the back of the layout, nothing gets damaged when using a track rubber.
A balmy place amid sun-scorched grass. No passengers to worry about.....Just the Dean Goods rolling in to knock a few wagons about for 15 minutes, a cup of tea, then off back down the branch.
