Thanks Gismo. You know the area well with living there. The Dee Valley looks to me very similar to some areas on the Shropshire borders down the valley to Welshpool.

A photo merely taken to see how the 4mm vac'd grass looks. Every day, I take photos of new 'work' and then go though photo albums to see how things really looked and how the model might be improved. This platform end shot tells me the accumilation of muck at places like this is missing...

It would be a very fastidious Stationmaster who had that bit of land regularly cut.

Would some low shrubbery be a good way of filling the area whilst keeping it tidy.

That area is a prime candidate for rhododendron - fills it up; low maintenance.

Rhododendron's....or at least some pretty flowers.... :D

One of the small trees was sacrificed by cutting it into slices to form the base of the flowers. So far they look like bushes...
WEB Llanfair26 7V.jpg

The bushes were sprayed with glue and some red flower beds were removed from their backing sheet and crumpled between finger & thumb so the flowers settled on the adhesive. It's a work in progress, as I'm busy doing other things today...

You created my vision!

As it stands, it represents that fleeting period when the bush starts to drop its flower petals!

Absolutely spot-on.

After the last train of the day departed, Reverend Griffiths went for a late evening stroll around the station with his trusty German Leica. He had walked across the fields and clambered over the stone wall to reach this spot...

WEB Llanfair26 7WW.jpg

The railwaymen were his flock and he knew they would be enjoying a gill or even a pint. All was quiet...
WEB Llanfair26 7X.jpg

He took this shot and then stood for a moment wondering how the station got by without lamps and platform seats...
WEB Llanfair26 7XX.jpg

Then he looked in admiration at the church and considered his good fortune in securing this post. In an hours time, the sun would have dipped and he would back back home listening to music on the North Home Service...

Spent a day and a half converting this EFE Leyland TD1 from a glossy lined out model into a something that resembled a clapped-out second hand purchase from the late 1940's.

Dismantling was easy using a tough screwdriver between the lower and upper deck sections, then the interior simply fell out. The bus shell was washed with Ajax powder, then two of the original cream bands were masked. All my cellulose railway colours were disposed of years ago, but I had to hand a Howes spraycan of LNER green that was used to spray Llanfair's outdoor scenery!

I'd never make a Chinese assembler! There was a sequence to re-assembly that only EFE knew about. The penny began to drop in stages until eventally I hit the jackpot. Seat units go in first, but the glazing would only stay put with the aid of Loctite...

Ex. Ribble Leyland TD1 standing at Llanfair looking as forlorn as most of these 1929-30 buses did by the end of the 1940's...
