Brake Fluid as paint stripper - what happens next?!?

Apologies for this - especially as I've used Car Brake Fluid as a paint stripper many years ago, but I'm about to do it again, and can't remember something that must be pretty important... :headbang:

Once it's been used and, hopefully, removed the paint from the plastic model in the intended manner... what's the next step?? :scratch: :eek:

In other words how do you clean off the brake fluid and neutralise it? Will it just wash off, i.e. water soluable, or do I need to use white spirit etc?

Personaly I wouldn't use Brake fluid, Have you tryed Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner*? I find it works well, and is easy to clean off.

*other brands are available. 8)

yes Mr Muscle works for me too any way mat how do you know that it's been years since you went near a cooker :))

Okay, I'll admit that I posted this "over there" too, where I actually got some helpful replies to the question... :

Which brand of brake fluid are you using? The stuff that I use does not damage the paintwork, I thought that they had changed the formulation to prevent any damage.

It would be useful to know in case I have any disasters.

Not sure what the actual make is - something cheap!!

It's DOT4 Synthetic, though, which is important apparently. I've been told the newer DOT5 has been made so it doesn't damage paintwork.
I've done a test on a small piece; I had to let the part soak for at least 10 minutes or so before it started to fetch the paint off with the help of a cheap nylon-bristle brush - I thought it wasn't working at all at first!
Afterwards I just washed the part in lots of water, which was the basic answer I was after to my original question...!!! :))

Ere Jordan as to what happens next does the paint not come off!!!! silly boy back to the back of the class with you withe a thousand lines I will not ask why paint stripper takes paint off :shit:
