Old family photographs have always fascinated me - this one in particular!


Although the original print was badly damaged note the wagons & vans in the background - taken apparently nr Ratho [station] on the Edinburgh-Glasgow main line pre WW1. Note the fine collection of North British and other? rolling stock....

Definitely post-WW1 judging by the fashions and the presence of foreign (GW etc) wagons as a result of the various common user agreements. Mid 1920s would be my guess.
