Here at last!

Hello there. Some of you already know me, or of me. I have finally given in and joined Western Thunder!

My interests are wide and varied, ranging from pre-Grouping LNWR right through to the modern scene. Equally, while I've listed 7mm as my main scale, I dabble in and model 2mm and 4mm as well, not to mention an occasional sideline into other modelling fields than British railways.

I may not be hugely active all the time, but expect me to pipe up in threads that interest me.

I do hope that you will bring some of your non-railway interests to the forum, especially your modelling of motor transport.

John L and I were discussing your photos of Monks Erleigh just five minutes back - I understand from John that you have many more of that subject than can be found on your Flickr site, please post a few here.

Once I bed in I'll certainly post some non-railway related items in the gallery forum. I'll check with Monks Eleigh's owner that he's okay with me sharing more images - they were shot for publication, so I don't want to spoil things too much.

I did get some positive comments about the livery when compared with other coaches Richard had on display when I delivered them. To be honest, all I did was paint them with the supplied paint! Richard letters and weathers the models post delivery.

John rang earlier today and suggested that I looked at your Flickr site... and I agree very much with John's comment about the Mk.1s, the photos show the carriages just as I remember them in Reading station circa 1976-8. If you do not wish to post those photos here then please provide a link to the relevant part of the Flickr site.

I may well begin a separate gallery thread for my non-railways offerings. It's just taking me a while to find images in my library–and I may well need to hold a shoot over Christmas to add stuff that seems to have avoided having portraits taken!
