Sunday morning - Bury Market black pudding, poached eggs and a glass of Côtes du Rhône - ready for some bodging.

That's better, the feet are in place, now I can use the gronk.

And here are some of the likely stock items for the layout

Not too sure about the veracity of the lettering on the Dogfish, it looks wrong.
Finally, the visiting Drewery 03, I happen to like its reliability and control (Zimo MX31)

Hi,

In my search to find an alternate to expensive lightweight rock walling, I found this composite Limestone Rock available from pet superstores (easier to find than train shops) and Tips n'tricks

I bought two sheets for £50 and that will provide all the backdrop for the quarry layout, it can be cut and stuck in place with Gripfill solvent free- I will upload some more pictures when the layout is progressing. It looks just like the quarry faces at Portland and Meldon, although the pendantry brigade will state otherwise - just knock yourself out.

Not quite sure why I like ballast wagons or indeed any engineers wagons, maybe because they look rather interesting in black/rust.

Anyhew, it is a nice way of wasting an hour on the workbench with some water, acrylic and a nice sable.
