I had some time to tickle a chalk stains the first shot shows the grottiest part of the whole wall, there will be a down pipe from the buttress drain

And the darlek is back, you can see the different bond and newer brickwork in the nearest arch

Strewth......

I turn my back for 5 minutes and you've gone and built the bloody thing.

Er, should I not consider the size of the plot and general topography........

I do admire the use of technology, though. Now, if your pubatron can do ready tiled roofs as well:)

With the speed you use that laser Cynric, you must have been trained by master Yoda himself Superb!

Rob, its not the laser it is the drawing time, I ran my desktop job timer and from downloading the first photo to the test piece coming out of the laser is 1hr.30 including cutting. But there are no lintels, no assembly tabs etc etc so it slows down from here. and I hadnt planned on doing the back either....
Richard, you need about 1sq ft :) the tiles are lasered from paper or card

Quick bit of photoshop and a test for the windows...

Not a huge amount done today as I had a 70 mile bike ride this morning which was run off at 20mph average, the afternoon was spent drinking tea and eating biscuits :)
But I did manage a little work on one of the doors although it still needs some locks, nail marks, flaking paint etc

The supports for the pub roof have been sketched, I like to use a slot together egg box framework for accuracy and ease of assembly

I chucked a bit of track down yesterday and did the ballast thing with pva glue and by this evening it was dry enough to spray some mixed grey tones. I know there are some bald patches but ill be planting lots of weeds and shopping trolleys.....
all these little things are taking an age, build time for the actual arches is about an hour.

A couple of shots from the great outdoors - the basic track tones are done, the cess at the side needs a little clearing although it is going to be filled with stinky water and weeds

IMG_4887.JPG

The overspray will be replaced with sooty grot before the weeds go down as given the timescale it is 5-10 years after the end of steam

An order has gone in for Silflor and some etched vegetation.....

A quick update. I filled the cess with a dry mix of polyfilla to which water was added after I was happy with the shape. this took 2 days to dry so I have only just been able to spray it.
The first shot showy why mdf beats plastic, I have been easily able to reproduce spalled bricks quick dig with a scalpel and job done
IMG_4933.JPG

in the second shot you can see the muddy cess, this will have stinky water, moss and grass added.

IMG_4935.JPG

the sleepers have had a little more work, again as this is an abandoned track faded tones are the order of the day. Any bald spots in the ballast will have weeds etc added. once I am happy with the track, work will resume on the sides as there is too much danger of handling damage to continue at the moment

Next step is some static grass, but I was stunned at the price of the Noch system:eek:

I havent :) but I have sold quite a few of these. There are a few interesting 1/32 ideas floating about pending drawings and/or visits to take some measurements......

I need to get this rolling along again, so I took the boys for a walk up to the remains of the Brecon loop to get some shots of the track. The colours are very light, my sleepers could do with being a little more silvery, this is weeded now and then, but it gives an idea of the kind of effect I want, I think some fine sand or a dusting of polyfilla wouldnt go amiss in the ballast. maybe a few bleached tea leaves as well and a static grass gizmo will hopefully take care of the some of the growth.
I dont know what is going to happen to this spur as Bulmers wont use it again, does Captain Kernow know?
