4mm Teignmouth sea wall.

IMG_2521.JPGSome more pictures of my layout.,,These are the steps that lead down from the top of the sea wall onto a raised footway passing under the bridge to access smugglers lane.

rsz_img_3466.jpgThe bridge pillars had been strengthened to give extra protection from stormy seas.I used slaters 7mm stone walling, warmed in hot water and rolled it around a piece of copper tubing to form the front of the wall.

A bit of colour and weathering really brings out the texture of the stone.

The red sand coloured cliffs in this view have been painted with my mixture of pva glue, emulsion and sand and then partly covered in hanging basket liner which was purchased from ebay off the roll [approx 1 metre wide].
rsz_img_3392.jpgTrack starting to be laid.More on this later.
rsz_img_3481.jpgSea defence rocks are wickes cotswold stone chippings.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone.More pictures soon.
No problem it's throughly deserved. Like Neil's Morfa thread this is a breath of fresh air, a sweeping panorama. Really impressed with the use of the slaters walling for the bridge pillars, they look suitably imposing and solidly built.

Here are some more pictures.
The baseboards are numbered 1-4 ,from, left to right. Board number 4 features the headland known as HOLE HEAD with PARSON'S TUNNEL passing through it.
The track enters the tunnel straight and then curves inside to exit from the rear of the baseboard, leading onto a long curve linking up to the fiddle yard, it will form a complete 'roundy roundy' circuit.rsz_img_2844.jpg Construction of tunnel.rsz_img_2588.jpg
Inside the headland...The tunnel unit is removable to enable track maintenance. The roof is a thin piece of zinc coated steel rolled to shape.rsz_img_2814.jpg rsz_img_2815.jpg rsz_img_2831.jpg rsz_img_3451.jpg
Brickwork complete............My special mixture of pva, emulsion blend and builders sand has been applied to cliffs
rsz_img_3467.jpg
Sea defence rocks now carefully set in place with contact glue, and pill boxes built.rsz_img_2825.jpg Boards 3 and 4 prior to painting.
More soon.
