I have to say Carrers old chap that Pannier looks rather nice. These subliminal messages of yours may well be getting through.
Of course, Pencarrow is a bit bigger than I can accommodate at present but even so the prospect of big trains to play with is getting more attractive by the day.


Peter you have my sympathy. The sprout is a much maligned vegetable and would be sorely missed at Christmas, certainly at Sheep Towers. Superb served with butter, chestnuts and bacon bits.

I am going to have a good look at a Dapol Pannier after work. Who knows where that will lead........?

Seriously, the Dapol and Minerva panniers are very similar in quality, what sells Minerva to me is the after sales service (see recent posts to the Minerva topics in Products and Trade on RMWeb).

The purchase of a 7mm locomotive is a slippery path...... I should know, I did that 30 years ago and never looked back. Mind you back then, it was a kit, as 7mm rtr was virtually unknown. I also take partial responsibility for Chris (Pencarrow) turning the dark side.

Having dabbled with a Dapol Pannier, I came away from my visit to the train shop with some O gauge track........l mean, it's a real chicken and egg scenario.......what came first, the wagon or the track......

Yes you do indeed!

Buying one little wagon kit started it for me. Then there was the promise of a RTR Beattie Well Tank which evaporated once I'd built some boards. Ho hum.

I've said it before but I should have moved on to 7mm a long time ago. No regrets and the cost of single items does make you plan more and less likely to go for impulse purchases. My annual spend is actually down on the 4mm years, so it needn't be a costly move.

Have to admit to feeling a little sheepish as I'd completely missed your arrival here, but have spent a pleasant 20 minutes bombarding you with likes as I reprised all those lovely photo's of your inspirational little layouts! Good to hear there should be an inspirational bigger little layout in progress here soon! Although I'm not that sure I need inspiring in that direction....

Thanks for popping in and thank you for your kind words.
I am humbled by the use of the word inspirational and find the fact that you perceive my efforts as such a very gratifying by product of my own enjoyment.

Any developments regarding bigger trains will be documented here which I find less frantic than elsewhere with less distractions.

If you are able to pop up to the Cardiff show in Oct it would be nice to see you.
