The best etched mesh/net is from Aber. Available from Hannants. Although advertised as 1/35 they are universal in scale. I've used their mesh for O and HO scale models. Hannants ref ABR35S08 - S-08 is a 0.75 x 1.5mm diamond pattern.

Aber mesh/net web page. S-01 onwards and in various types (square, rectangle, diamond) and sizes. Product catalogue • Aber

I'd forgotten about CCT. £25 is still a heck of a price to number one engine (or two if I bother with the PRMRP loco).
In fact recent posts of mine on this thread have included the words "forgot" or "forgotten" rather too much  maybe my brain is aging quicker than I think... this evening I had a good search through all my transfers and was amazed at what I found - such as the Modelmaster dry-rub numbers!!

True - what a few of us did with the 4mm one was to form a collective and share the transfers out in a barter/cash arrangement (I think I paid in stamps!), but it is 0 Gauge, isn't it usually quite pricey? ;)

Oi!! Don't get me started on that "If it's O Scale it MUST be expensive" mentality!!  ;)

I am teasing - some of the RTR prices are astonishingly reasonable (and the products good, seemingly) I’ve noticed, but this is getting away from the point. The 14 you have needs less remedial attention than my 4mm Heljan one, which still requires me to make up the scale sized rods to replace the weedy examples it comes with.
