Here at Crymlyn A Shop the foreman has been very concerned with the implications of Teresa May’s announcement about eliminating all forms of traction other than electric by 2040.
After studying the rather long-winded article in the Gauge 0 Gazette about fitting a battery to a strange 0-4-0, Baldrick, the Crymlyn A Shop Gofor, has come up with another “cunning plan”. He has found that by replacing the firebox with an electric motor and fitting a PP3 battery previously powering the Shop’s smoke alarm in a trailing wagon, the Andrew Barclay contract locomotive can easily be converted.
Our foreman was very pleased with Baldrick’s last cunning plan to build 1338 in 3 sub-assemblies so gave him permission to proceed.
Owen the Spanner and Percy Veerance have been hard at work carrying out these modifications. Running tests have also found the weight saved by not painting the locomotive give an increase in efficiency of the battery life to the value of .01042018%.
Dai the Paint is not happy about the locomotive not being painted.

The locomotive was secretly filmed under test at Pantyfynnon Junction.
