Tower Models; Interesting Website Comment re Glasgow Show.

Tower Models say they will not be going to Glasgow or Telford Shows this year, mainkly for economic reasons, but also due to issues with NEC Staff at Warley; something I've heard Exhibitors comment on also.
I should imagine Tower's "bread'n'butter" shows are the G.O.G. events, so these two won't be such a big loss to them... :scratch:

Are you confusing Telford with Warley Jordan ?

So I am not the only one then!! we turned up there with my 1 year old daughter and as you know a babe in arms requires a lot of fussing and messing about, what with bottles and stuff. We asked a marshall if we could warm a bottle up to feed the babe and was told to stand the other side of the barrier and then ask. They should have given him a gun and told him his name is Wyatt Urp, bleedin cowboys, that was some introduction to officiousness !!!, I thought I was bad. In the end another sherrif rolled into town and overode the rootin tootin ars***le and enabled us to feed the baby.

I have never been to Glasgow so I cant comment, but I will never go to any exhibition in the NEC, my idea of hell on earth, and I can well believe Ians experience.

I just find that I have reached an age where I dont enjoy large crowds and being pushed about. Any show at the NEC is IMHO an unpleasant experience.

Went to Warley a couple of times, to big you can't get round it in a day. So you start looking a doing the two day then cost starts to play a part, £50 accommodation £45 train fare. So no I wont be going again
Now Telford a different story, looking at doing the two days this year and bu99er the expense, but I do know a lot of people who will be there, just got to have lots of beer tokens :drool:

refering to the overcrowding I remeber 1 year a particular corner where Pete Harvey's stand was right on a corner he was not best pleased he had no buisness at all because 2 of our well known box shifters where positioned either side of him doing a roaring trade with no-one moving at all around the corner, no passing trade as you may say. I must agree with previous posters all I seem to want these days is my pipe and slippers and a bit of comfort I've done the bashing around the country, I've done the lets get smashed out of our brains and see who can last the longest without being ill, Time to calm down.
