Yes. One of 5 BELs built to a US design for NZR in the 1920's. Some were later rebuilt as diesel electric in the 1950's and they lasted until the 1970's

Plans I prepared of this loco appeared in the "NZ Model Railway Journal" a few years ago.
Plans for the later diesel-electric conversion followed in a later issue (not sure which). If you have joined the NZ Model Railway Guild, you can access archived copies.

Hi Brian,
I have your articles and drawings, I was given them last week. They are very detailed and the articles are well put together.
I'm hoping to make a start once RailEx and scale4 Crewe are out of the way.

In addition to Brian's drawings of the original and improved NZR Eb locomotives, the December 2011 NZMR Journal contained David Halfpenny's drawing of the NZ Co-operative Dairy Co's Goodman loco.

I got that one as well. Quick wins to get something running.
