I've just seen this on All3DP CNC Kitchen's Free Browser Tool Lets You Texture 3D Models – No Blender Needed
It's referencing an open source project that works via a browser to add (selectively if needed) textures to STL CAD models. What immediately caught my eye was a brick option. It also looks like you could add your own custom texture maps for specific patterns eg different brick bonds, stone, etc.
I've only had a instant play with it, but it might be really useful for making some scenic items like buildings etc. if it can be driven to your desired scale.
