No doubt not as easy as one might at first imagine to get it looking just right.

Where next? What about Buggleskelly station in 7mm?
Not sure Slaters offer sheets of rustic weatherboarding quite that rustic though

I think you'd struggle to find any group of modellers who haven't discussed this idea at some point. Nice to see someone having a go at it.

An interesting concept and the video helps provide a good back story to your project. The non-motorised loco is not an A3 though, but a Princess Coronation.

Seeing as most of our reference material is in black and white, it should make deciding the right shade of BR loco green a doddle.

I've seen a small micro-layout done in monochrome, some years ago now, but not a whole 'proper' layout. Very interesting, and certain to have 'atmosphere' in spades!

There was a 3mm diorama called 50 shades of grey, on the exhibition circuit a few years ago. An excellent layout.

Alan has a monochrome layout - Blackney. Mind you, he does colourise a fair few of the pictures he posts on here.

Hi everyone - here's the final layout. It made its debut at Woolwich and had its second outing just this last weekend in Maidstone - and booked into more shows this year. It's been great to see the reaction - most of which has been "my eyes are going funny!" - Really proud of the layout and have absolutely loved working in shades of grey (it's a very calming colour).
