7mm Distractions

Looks dangerous. I was intending to model a Colonel Stephens line in EM, but then Dapol announced their O gauge Terrier in Kent & East Sussex Railway livery, and I had to buy two of them, as the K&ESR had two! This led to buying a number of cheap wagons on eBay, just to help me get started in a new scale, which inevitably resulted in a collection of wagons that would rarely, if ever, have been seen on the K&ESR. Then I bought a new Dapol wagon that was much reduced, just to see what O gauge RTR wagons are like. I've since bought a few more RTR PO wagons, that wouldn't have run in Kent, and are far later than the 1905ish period planned for the K&ESR layout I haven't started yet, many years later. But there is also the Ixion Hudswell Clarke I bought while waiting for the Terriers to be released, which is as built in the 1920s, so too modern for the K&ESR layout, so I now need to build a more modern industrial layout for all this to run on. Meanwhile, the first suitable piece of rolling stock for the K&ESR is just a part done 3D CAD drawing!

Be very careful!!!

They were just resting in my modelling cupboard…

With the limited space I have available at the moment during house moves, I’m kind of restricted to wagon kits and I bought these 7mm ones a long time ago, along with a MR 3 plank drop side and a tar wagon.
Any rumours that 3 Powsides Slaters wagons have been ordered are just conjecture.

so why the collection? Well they would all have been seen on the WC&PR at some point as a I’ve got a very long term plan to build Worle as it had a loop, coal yard and siding to a small gas works, later a rubber factory. Details on the WC&PR website here
Worle Town

I’ve also a small stash of rtr Antics limited edition wagons pertaining to the WC&PR, along with 2 Terriers, a Manning Wardle and a Drewry Railcar kit. Oh and 3 ex Metropolitan 4 wheel coach kits too.

Not the best photos but all I have.

Any of the Colonel's lines have a fascinating history and an odd mixture of stock. The perfect excuse for just about anything.

Very nice too. My first house was not far from there towards Worle

That is a lovely model of Ebdon Lane, Allen, I am trying to emulate the structure at Wick At Lawrence (albeit very slowly!) on my "Another Attempt".
Like you say the Colonel's empire has a lot to offer.
Walking our daughter's dog along the raised track bed by Spinners Bridge I sometimes forget to throw the ball for her as I am "just supposing.....!"
Cheers Julian
