For those in need of Reasonably Priced Blowlamp but don't like the idea of a cheap plastic fitting on top of a camping gas cylinder...

I have never ventured into buying a gas powered blow lamp because my father nearly burned the house down when I was in my early teens with one of those plastic fittings that fit a camping gas/butane rattle can type cylinder.

However I needed to free of a joint that had been done with Loctite 628 between two substantial pieces of steel so when I initially looked for a decent blowlamp, I was expecting it to be near to a hundred quid so I was quite amazed at how cheap this was. - £35 from Amazon (link below).

In usual Amazon fashion it arrived the day after and I had the job done in no time. The blow lamp fitting will also fit the smaller propane bottles that plumbers use, so it seems it's quite versatile.

For those who might fancy having a go at silver soldering but don't have anything hot enough to do it, this might be a reasonable cost answer.

I have no connection with either the maker or Amazon just a happy customer and thought it worth sharing if you have a need of something similar.

My Iroda Solder Pro (which I use for modelling) does get very hot and would probably silver solder, it just didn't give off enough concentrated heat needed to heat up the two pieces of steel to break the Loctite bond. Which just goes to show how good the correct version for the job is.

Ironically, this blow lamp is actually cheaper than most options I've seen for a replacement for my Solder Pro as they mostly come it at around £40 these days.
