Jubilee Restoration

As I've slowly taken a step back from kit building and moved into scratch building and restoration.
I came across this little gem, A Jubilee class locomotive which appears to have a mystery behind it that im yet to solve...

At this point until delivery, it appears all coupling rods and valve gear are still bagged (Premier). Buffers are still bagged and the slide rods from both sides are missing.
No details of a motor or if a power source was ever fitted.

Appears to have been painted at one point and then removed, tell tale sign as the smokebox number and name plate are attached.

Fun little project perhaps.....Screenshot_20260508_180347_eBay.jpgScreenshot_20260508_180402_eBay.jpg

Intriguing to see LNWR Claughton driving wheels. Does it have Sellatape boiler bands?
Tbh Larry, not too sure.
As soon as she arrives I'll get a better in depth analysis on here.

I'm puzzled as to why it was painted, stripped and then left in this condition. May have been a static model...

Hi Corin,

Love a good restoration project. There are so many models out there that could do with love and we learn so much by getting them back in service.

Just to confirm this is a 7mm model?

Hi,
Yes she's a 7MM locomotive, I've got a second one in atm for some light restoration aswell.
I'll get some photos online shortly

I like the separate smoke box rivets, even if they are a bit wonky. It's not actually a rebuilt Patriot that's been renamed by someone? I don't know enough about LMS locos to be authoratitive....

Im a bit of an LNWR /LMS / MIDLAND nut, but not a treasure trove of knowledge.

When it comes I'll get some detailed photos up.

This is my other restoration project of a Jubilee....20260509_165501.jpg20260509_153749.jpg20260509_165510.jpg20260509_165541.jpg

Not too sure but it looks like the coupling rods are on upside down.
Ive had the body off and underneath is a sad state of affairs unfortunately.
All the motion parts have been bent into shape for some reason or other and the is binding badly.
Second to that, motor is there however seems wired to chassis and the bogie but nothing else...im not 100% sure what the purpose of that was as it wouldn't run either way.

It was a display piece I picked up, but unsure why you would go to so much effort and craftsmanship on the body and tender, detail the main frame chassis, to not have it work properly?????20260510_120927.jpg20260510_115809.jpg20260510_120030.jpg
And is it just me or are these getting smaller ....IMG-20260510-WA0000.jpeg
